Weekly Update

Third Grade Community,

It’s been a wonderful week thus far in the BEST CLASS! The students amaze me everyday with questions, wonderings, and statements that truly show them to be great thinkers. I’m so proud.

Today we read a fantastic article in our Storyworks Jr. magazine entitled, “Mountain of Fire” by Lauren Tarshis. She’s the author of the “I Survived” Series. Students were really excited to learn about this active volcano.

Upcoming Events

Next week is  a busy week, as we will be taking the Ohio State Reading Test, entitled, “AIR.” This test is tied to the Third Grade Guarantee. We will be taking this test Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Please make sure your child is at school both days and has a nice healthy breakfast; it makes all the difference.

Trick or Treat Night

Trick or Treat night is happening next Wednesday at Holly Hill! If you’re able to donate candy, we would appreciate it.

Lock In

We’re so excited to have our first Lock In of the school year on Friday November 3rd. Check your child’s folder for details! It’s going to be a great time!

Conferences

Please don’t forget to sign up for conferences.

Please continue to have your child read nightly for at least 20 minutes. I’m super proud of how the Best Class has created a sense of urgency around reading! 🙂
